The PEAK 2 PEAK is spinning. The bike park is open. And somewhere up there, a bear is doing its thing while you watch from a gondola.
Welcome to Whistler's summer.
Whistler Blackcomb officially opened for the 2026 season on 15 May, and if you've been writing this mountain off as a winter-only destination, you're missing the entire point.
The Whistler Mountain Bike Park — North America's largest — opened from the Fitzsimmons Zone on 15 May, with trails running from beginner-friendly to "what was I thinking." Full park access kicks in mid-June.
What makes 2026 genuinely historic: Crankworx Whistler returns for its 21st edition from 24 July to 2 August, and for the first time ever, Whistler hosts the inaugural UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Downhill (25–27 September). The world's fastest riders on the world's most iconic bike park. Book accommodation now — Whistler in late July fills up fast and earlier every year.
The 4.4km PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola — open weekends now, daily from 13 June — connects Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains and is one of the most spectacular rides on the planet. Step off and you've got 50+ kilometres of hiking trails, ancient glaciers, seasonal snow walls, and Coast Mountain panoramas that go on forever.
Full summer access opens 13 June, including Cloudraker Skybridge, Raven's Eye Lookout, the Peak Express Chairlift, and the Top of the World Summit.
On-mountain highlights this season:
Epic Australia Pass holders get complimentary PEAK 2 PEAK gondola access plus 20% off bike rentals, accommodation, and dining. That's a solid stack of savings on what's already one of the best-value mountain destinations for Australians heading north.
Planning a 2027 trip? The Epic Australia Pass is $1,285 AUD right now — prices rise on 27 May, so the window to lock it in is this week.
Early bird rates on the Summer Alpine Experience Pass are also in effect through 12 June.
